05
Quotations and Project Proposals
All quotations, estimates, proposals, and project budgets are based on the information available at the time of preparation. Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing:
Preliminary estimates are indicative and are not binding final quotations.
Final pricing may depend on site measurements, design approvals, material selection, specifications, labour requirements, and execution conditions.
Any taxes, delivery charges, installation charges, third-party charges, or other costs will be identified in the applicable proposal or quotation, as appropriate.
Changes to the project scope, material specifications, or customer requirements may affect the final price.
Quotations may be subject to a stated validity period.
A quotation becomes binding in accordance with its stated terms and applicable law once the relevant contractual requirements have been satisfied.
Customers are encouraged to review the complete proposal, payment schedule, inclusions, exclusions, and execution conditions before approving a project.
06
Pricing and Payments
The price of an interior design project depends on factors such as property size, design complexity, materials, finishes, furniture, labour, installation requirements, and the agreed scope of work. The final commercial terms will be specified in the relevant quotation, proposal, invoice, or written agreement.
Payment Conditions
• Payments must be made according to the agreed payment schedule.
• Applicable taxes will be charged as required by law.
• Any advance payment or booking amount will be governed by the agreed project terms and applicable law.
• Additional work or changes outside the approved scope may require separate payment.
• Any payment milestones will be communicated in the applicable proposal or agreement.
• We will communicate accepted payment methods and instructions before payment is due.
Important: Customers should make payments only to authorised accounts or through payment channels confirmed by The Urban Interior Company.
Delayed Payments
Where a payment is overdue, we may issue a payment reminder and, subject to the applicable agreement and law, suspend affected work or adjust the project schedule. Any applicable late-payment charges must be disclosed in the relevant agreement and comply with applicable law.
We will not treat a payment dispute as a waiver of any non-excludable consumer rights.
07
Project Scope and Change Requests
The approved quotation, proposal, drawings, specifications, and written agreement will define the agreed project scope. Requests to change the original design, material selection, dimensions, layout, or execution requirements may affect pricing and delivery timelines.
Where a Change Affects the Project:
• We will assess the proposed change.
• Any additional costs or timeline implications will be communicated.
• Work on the change will proceed in accordance with applicable approval and payment requirements.
Customers should obtain written confirmation of material changes to avoid misunderstandings. Work outside the agreed scope will not automatically be included in the original project price.
08
Design Approvals and Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving designs, drawings, specifications, material selections, and other project details within the agreed review periods. You agree to:
Provide accurate property details and project requirements.
Ensure that you are authorised to commission work at the relevant property.
Provide necessary access for measurements, site inspections, deliveries, and execution.
Obtain any approvals or permissions that are your responsibility as property owner or occupant.
Review drawings, dimensions, layouts, and specifications before approving them.
Inform us promptly of relevant changes in property conditions or project requirements.
Make payments in accordance with the agreed schedule.
Delays in providing information, approvals, access, or payments may affect the project schedule. Where required, the parties will discuss and document resulting adjustments.
09
Project Timelines and Delays
Estimated project timelines will be communicated through the relevant proposal or written agreement. Actual timelines may depend on:
Timely customer approvals and payments
Availability of materials and products
Supplier and contractor schedules
Site readiness and physical access
Changes requested by the customer
Building society / society management permissions
Unforeseen site conditions
Events beyond the reasonable control of the parties
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays and coordinate revised schedules. Any agreed completion date, delay remedies, or extension provisions will be governed by the applicable project agreement and mandatory law. We will not rely on these terms to exclude liability where prohibited by law.
10
Materials, Products, and Specifications
Interior design projects may involve materials, appliances, hardware, furniture, fittings, and other products sourced from third-party manufacturers or suppliers.
Product availability, colours, textures, dimensions, finishes, and specifications may vary within reasonable manufacturing tolerances.
Where a specified product becomes unavailable, we will discuss a suitable alternative with the customer where a substitution is necessary and material to the agreed scope. No material substitution that requires customer approval under the project agreement will be treated as approved merely because a supplier has recommended it.
Manufacturer warranties, installation warranties, and product-specific conditions may apply separately. Where a warranty is offered or required, its applicable terms will be communicated to the customer.
Nothing in these terms excludes statutory rights relating to defective products, deficient services, or other protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11
Site Conditions and Third-Party Work
The scope of interior design and execution services may be affected by existing property conditions, concealed wiring, plumbing, structural elements, moisture, uneven surfaces, or other site-specific circumstances.
• Where additional work becomes necessary because of previously unknown conditions, we will communicate the implications and obtain relevant approval where required before proceeding with chargeable additional work.
• Work performed by independent third-party contractors or suppliers may be subject to separate arrangements. We will clarify responsibility for coordination, supply, installation, and warranties in the applicable project proposal or agreement.
• Structural alterations, electrical work, plumbing, or other regulated activities will be undertaken only within the agreed scope and subject to applicable safety requirements, permissions, and professional qualifications.
12
Cancellations, Termination, and Refunds
Cancellation and termination rights will be governed by the applicable quotation, project agreement, and mandatory consumer protection laws. If you wish to cancel a project or service, please contact us in writing at business@theurbaninteriorcompany.in. Your request should include your name, project reference where available, and the service to cancel.
A. Before Project Commencement
Where a project is cancelled before work begins, any refund will be assessed according to agreed terms, work already performed, expenses properly incurred, and applicable law.
B. After Design or Execution Work Has Started
Where work has commenced, the parties may need to account for: design work completed, approved materials or products ordered, custom-made items or fabrication already undertaken, work completed at the property, and reasonable documented expenses permitted by agreement and law.
C. Refund Processing
Where a refund is due, it will be processed within the applicable legal timeframe or stated agreement timeframe, subject to mandatory law. We will communicate reasonable documentation requirements needed to process the refund.
No provision of this section is intended to waive any cancellation, refund, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
